More than two dozen athletes came out on Saturday, July 18, for the Spartanburg Flames Summer Baseball Skills Camp. Players spent the day learning, competing, and developing their skills alongside the Flames baseball coaching staff and players.
Coach Miller and his entire coaching staff were on hand to lead the camp, working with athletes on the fundamentals and techniques needed to continue growing as baseball players. Campers had the opportunity to receive hands-on instruction while working through drills designed to develop their skills and understanding of the game.
Several of the Flames’ older baseball players also volunteered during the camp, helping teach and encourage the younger athletes. Having current players work alongside the coaching staff gave younger campers an opportunity to learn not only from their coaches, but also from athletes who have continued developing within the Flames baseball program.
The day was about more than simply improving baseball skills. It was also an opportunity for players of different ages and experience levels to compete together, build confidence, and enjoy the game while learning from coaches and older athletes who were willing to invest in them.
Thank you to all of the athletes, families, coaches, and player volunteers who helped make the Summer Baseball Skills Camp a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue building the Flames baseball program and introducing younger athletes to the instruction, teamwork, and community that we hope will characterize Spartanburg Flames Baseball.
